Antique Gretl Ceramic Kitchen Canister w/Lid - Broesel - Bread Crumbs - Roses This auction is for a old German ceramic canister. Piece is decorated with pink roses, gold trim and raised beading and a geometric design. I was told this jar came from Austria and was made by Gretl. for your favorite kitchen essentials. Jar is off white and adorned with a geometric motif and roses on each side. Each side also has gold leafing that is being worn away with time. The lid has a simple design for easy lifting. Jar measures 8.5" tall with lid by 4.55" wide by 4" deep. Inside is clean. Bottom is marked Gretl. Jar is antique and beautiful but does have some flaws as noted: Chip on lid, small chip on bottom of canister. (Pictured). The canister still displays quite well. Packed carefully and shipped from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictures are part of the description.
